Artists and Craftspeople ~ Hawaii ~ Oahu ~ Honolulu ~ Waikiki and surrounding areas:
There is a great community of artists and craftspeople in Hawaii. I visited as many as I could fit into my busy schedule between snorkeling, bodyboarding and sipping Mai Tais at “Dukes Beach Bar”. There is a relaxed and warm hearted spirit with the people of Hawaii, and this even resonates into the hearts and soul of many tourists. A friendly, welcoming place. The arts are very extensive and of varied genres. I found carvers, painters, potters, musicians, photographers, jewellers and more. I will show a small selection here and hopefully grow artists presence on artancraftconnection in the coming weeks and month, so visit here again.
The Tabora Gallery is situated in the main hotel and tourist district of Waikiki Beach, in the Outrigger Hotel Complex. About Tabora Art: Tabora’s art strikes a cord deep within, sending us to a mystical place where our imagination is free to wander amid our fondest memories. Ultimately we arrive at a moment of tranquility. To capture these moments and share them with his viewers – this is the artist’s highest aim and this is the true essence of Roy Tabora’s unforgettable seascapes. His original paintings and limited editions prints are highly prized by collectors for their irresistible qualities of majesty, mood, and meticulous perfection. Waikiki Beach “Art on the Zoo Fence” Every Saturday and Sunday
WAIKIKI BEACH – Art on the Zoo fence is a long established institution I was told by artists and residents ofwaikiki. It is located right next to the Honolulu Zoo. Follow the walkway on the right of the main entrance and you will discover a variety of impressive art and crafts! A large display of art, mainly painters and photographers. The spirit is great and welcoming. Some artists even paint right there. It is a joy to visit that display, at a grassroots level without the glossy glass shopfronts.. There is no entry fee and you meet the artists DIRECT! So if you happen to visit Hawaii, and Oahu, Waikiki Beach, check it out…
